Serve locally

Volunteer a few hours and make a direct difference.

Food For Fairview is an all volunteer pantry, and even a small monthly commitment helps us serve neighbors with consistency. As little as four to five hours a month can be a real help.

Volunteers support the pantry with practical, hands on work that keeps weekly distribution welcoming, organized, and efficient.

Why it matters

Neighbors helping neighbors

Volunteers allow us to provide personal attention, carry food to cars, keep shelves stocked, and respond with compassion to families under financial strain.

Inside the pantry

Greet clients, assist with shopping, stock shelves, and help keep the pantry organized during distribution.

Food transport

Help transport food from MANNA FoodBank to the pantry so weekly distribution has the inventory families need.

Community events

Lend a hand with fundraisers, the annual fall food drive at Fairview Elementary, and the fall community engagement market at the Fairview Public Library.

Volunteer paperwork

Complete the forms before you begin serving.

New volunteers should review and complete the required paperwork so we can place you where help is needed most. If you plan to drive for the pantry, the volunteer record also includes the driver attestation we need on file.

1. Volunteer record

Share your contact information, emergency contact, availability, special talents, and any physical limitations or restrictions.

This form also confirms that you have received the liability waiver. Drivers also attest that they meet North Carolina insurance and licensing requirements when using a vehicle in service to Food For Fairview.

2. Liability waiver

Every volunteer must have a signed release and waiver of liability on file before serving.

The waiver covers volunteer activities such as lifting, loading, unloading, and other pantry related work, and also includes consent for emergency medical treatment if needed.

Volunteer culture

Compassion, reliability, and local connection.

Our mission depends on people who are willing to show up, work together, and treat every client with dignity. Volunteers are part of how Food For Fairview shares the love of God in practical ways.

If you want to serve your community in a tangible way, we would like to hear from you.

"Volunteers aren't paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless."
